There are very few places, that come under the classification of Europe, that you can comfortably travel to at any time of the year. Even Greece is nothing like as warm in January and February. However, The Canary Islands are a definite exception to this rule, even though they should really come under the administration of West Africa.

With temperatures ranging between 21 and 28 degrees Celsius, across the full 12 months, this is the biggest draw for the millions of tourists that head to these sun-soaked islands every year. What is more, the islands enjoy a relatively low rainfall for much of the time too.

The islands that make up this archipelago are Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote and all enjoy a good selection of beaches and tourist facilities.

These islands were formed through volcanic activity and in geological terms, they are considered to be relatively young pieces of land. The way in which they were so abruptly formed, will ultimately conspire against them in the end and eventually the Canary islands will be returned to the Atlantic Ocean.

But for now, enjoying a near sub-tropical climate, just off the coast of Africa, the Canary Islands are still very much there and their continual temptation cannot be quashed by millions of people every year.
